Summer Pay for Schools
It's Here!
Summer Pay is now available through pay period reporting. If you pay more than once a month, summer pay will start on the last pay date in May.
If you're new or need to review, check out these helpful resources:

"No Summer Pay"
Use No Summer Pay button (each pay report) for non-licensed employees not paid during summer. The No Summer Pay button ensures that employees on this type of leave without pay still receive service credit.
Mistake? If you did No Summer Pay for an employee by mistake, open their payroll detail and uncheck
No Summer Pay box.

On Certifications If you haven't completed your Pay Period Report, you can select No Summer Pay for a pay date. Scroll right to see the option.

Working After Retirement
The Legislature made changes that affect WAR reporting. Please wait until June 1 to report working-after-retirement summer pay.

Optional Life Insurance
If you have employees who don’t receive pay over the summer or who receive lump-sum summer pay, you can report multiple months’ premiums on the same report starting in May. Scroll all the way to the right to see the Summer Pay Month dropdown menu for each person if you need to pay future premiums.
Please Note
If premiums are paid ahead of time and an earlier end date is submitted later, the premiums for months after the end date will be refunded on a future OGLI report. For example, if premiums were paid through August on the June OGLI report, and then a May end date is submitted in August. The August or September OGLI report will reflect refunds for the June, July and August premiums.
End Dates for Summer Pay
If an employee ends employment after a summer "Pay Until Date" has been used for that employee, you’ll need to enter the end date through Employee Lookup.
One More Reminder
You can only apply lump-sum summer pay one time per each pay cycle and plan. Example: You can do lump-sum once for KPERS 01 in June and then for WAR 01 in July, if needed.
