Employer Contribution Rate Change for Schools

On April 25, 2024, House Bill 2711 became law. Among other KPERS-related changes, HB 2711 raised the KPERS retiree death benefit 

from $4,000 to $6,000. 

Due to the death benefit change, your employer contribution rates 

went up slightly by 0.12%. This means your school employer contribution rate rose from  11.42% to 11.54%, effective April 1, 2024.

The new working-after-retirement rate of 11.54% goes into effect 

July 1, 2024.

This is just a notice. There is nothing you are required to do

regarding this change.

How to Find  Rates in the EWP

1. Login to the Employer Web Portal (EWP).

2. Under Employer, click Employer Info.

3. Click EE/ER Rate tab.

4. Find new EE/ER Rates table.
