Things will look a little different in the Employer Web Portal (EWP) starting
October 12. Based on a cybersecurity assessment, we are masking all but the
last 4 digits
of your employees' Social Security numbers (SSNs).
|

|
|
|
At KPERS, securing members' information is a top priority. A recent
outside audit of our online portal revealed room for improvement.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Your employees' SSNs will look like this when displayed inside the EWP:

|
|
|
|
|
|
• If you copy a masked SSN, it will stay masked when pasted.
• Data-entry fields will still display all 9 digits of the Social Security Number.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Right now, exported reports will still display all 9 digits of the Social Security Number.
But we are working to mask SSNs on all PDF and Excel reports. We'll keep you informed.

|
|
|
The masked format may take time to get used to. But it's an important improvement.
